Reddit adds a 15-second engaged-video bidding goal
Trade press says a global public beta now optimises for 15 seconds of watch time, on top of Reddit’s existing six-second engaged-view product.
Why it matters. Book trailers and talking-head ads on Reddit can now bid for a longer watch, not just a two- or six-second tick.
Mobile Marketing Reads reported on 3 September that Reddit has put a 15-second Engaged Video Views optimisation goal into public beta worldwide. For videos longer than 15 seconds, an engaged view is a 15-second watch; shorter ads must play to the end. Reddit already sold a six-second engaged-view objective. The new goal is aimed at demos, trailers and explainers.
Reddit’s own figures, as relayed by that report, claim alpha tests from May to July 2026 saw average lifts in 15-second view-through and completion rates. We have not seen a matching post on Reddit’s business blog in this cut, so treat the percentages as the company’s claim via trade press. If you already buy Reddit video, the setting to look for is in Ads Manager; do not rebuild a whole funnel on one unconfirmed rate card.
