Episode 463 of The Self-Publishing Show followed the KDP preorder news with James Blatch’s conversation with the Indieverse team in Milan. The claim is practical: Italy has an active indie scene and some appetite for English-language genre, not only for AI-translated dumps.
KDP’s Kindle Translate list already includes Italian. That is not the same as having a blurb, categories, price and ads that make sense in that store. If you test the market, pick one series, budget for a human pass on the sample, and watch refund and KU page-read behaviour before you roll a whole catalogue.
